Bhoomi Pooja: To begin with if you are laying the first brick of your home in a plot then a Bhumi Pooja or worshiping of the earth is very important. It’s considered to be very important and is said to foster happy beginnings and a peaceful stay.
Entrance: We pray to the Sun God and since the sun rises in the East, it is considered to be auspicious. So the main entrance should always be in the East. It’s said that this brings positive energy to the house and happiness prevails. Keep in mind that one must avoid a property which has a door facing South West as it is the entry of the devil energy and brings in struggles and misfortunes. However, if your home’s main entrance is already facing South West, then fix 2 Hanumanji’s tiles with the Gada in his left hand outside the door. This would ward off all the evil.
Bedroom: The main bedroom or the master bedroom must be located at the South West corner of an East facing home. However, bedrooms located in the West or South West is not that bad either as it brings material gains to the owner. If you are a business man or a stock broker a master bedroom in this location is advised. Bedrooms in the North-West increases support for the owner from his family, friends and society. Avoid the bedroom in east-south-east, west-north-west, south-south-west, south-east, north-east and north-north-east directions.
Kitchen: This is another most important aspect of our homes as the food we eat decides our health. According to Vaastu food should be cooked facing the east. The South-East corner is the best for a kitchen. It’s important to mention in this context that in the beginning we have said that the main entrance should also be towards the East. So the construction of the house should be in a way where the Kitchen though in the East must not be directly in front of the main entrance.
